West Oxfordshire residents who are yet to inform the District Council that they no longer want their garden waste bin, should get in touch now to arrange removal.
The Council is currently collecting unwanted garden waste bins across the District.
Cllr Carol Reynolds, Cabinet Member for the Environment at West Oxfordshire District Council, said: “If you’ve not signed up for the new subscription-only service and/or have any unwanted garden waste bins, then please get in touch to arrange removal as soon as possible.
“Our waste team will then let you know when the crews will be in your area gathering the unwanted empty bins. So far, we’re aware of around 500 people who would like their garden waste bins removed and we hope to have these collected by 16 July.”
Over 25,400 householders have signed up for the fortnightly garden waste collections which cost £30 per year, per bin.
For more information, or to request the removal of your bin, visit www.westoxon.gov.uk/garden or call 01993 861025, giving your address, contact details and the number of bins you would like collected.
