With the introduction of a new, improved recycling collection service from 2 October, some households across West Oxfordshire will see a change to their collection day.
A recycling guide and a calendar have been posted to residents telling them which days their rubbish, recycling, garden and food waste will be collected.
Calendars show collections from October 2017 to September 2018 – collections for this year are on the last page.
Changes have been made by the Council’s new contractor, Ubico to make collection rounds more efficient, in an effort to reduce the number of missed collections and manage service costs.
From October residents can present the majority of their recycling using their new wheelie bin, with glass being collected separately in existing black boxes. Residents will also be able to present small electrical items for collection at the kerbside. Recycling collections will become fortnightly but food waste will still be collected weekly.
Residents living in flats and communal properties may not be subject to some of the changes and the Council is communicating with them separately.
If anyone has not received their new guide and calendar or require a large print version, they should call 01993 861025 or email enquiries@westoxon.gov.uk.
