The roads and lanes of Oxfordshire are full of litter – and Spelsbury Parish is no exception, this little haul came from the four roads leading into Spelsbury village last Sunday. It included, as well as the usual array of plastic drinks bottles, take-away food containers; cigarette packets; empty cider and lager cans; empty half bottles of vodka, Jack Daniels and Cointreau; dirty nappies, and a bag full of spoons, silver foil, syringes and needles – there must be some pretty stressed-out parents driving through the Parish!
The Parish Council has ‘litter pickers’ and high-visibility vests available if anyone would like to help keep the Parish tidy! Please contact the Chair, Rick Leyland on 01608 810859
We are very grateful to Hugh Sherbrooke for clearing roads around Taston and, in Spelsbury, I am delighted to have been supported by Kersti Worsley and others.
